$ Annual Cost = Swimming Victoria Membership (Required) + Squad Training Fee (Required) + Aqua Energy Membership (Not required, but strongly recommended).
The current fees can be viewed in the dropdown sections below.
In addition, parents/carers should also allow for annual swimming expenses such as Swim Meet entry fees, uniform, equipment, transport and accommodation.
Swimming Victoria registrations are required for all training and competing swimmers.
This mandatory membership is renewable yearly, and lasts from the 1 July until 30 June the following year. Only swimmers registered as a competitor are eligible to compete. Whilst competing in swim meets is not mandatory, it is strongly encouraged for all swimmers, of all ages and abilities. As a club, it is requested that this membership is paid for promptly as this covers swimmers for insurance purposes both in the pool and dry land activities. Once an individual is a member of Swimming Victoria, then they are also affiliated with Swimming Australia.
Membership is purchased through Swim Central.
It is mandatory requirement for all swimmers under the age of 18 to have a dry member registered. Dry member registration enables a family member to have a vote at the club’s AGM and provides insurance should the parent/guardian volunteer at the club.
Being a swimmer member allows you to track your times from club competitions to championships as well as providing the opportunity to qualify for Swimming Australia’s Junior Excellence program. You can access pathway resources, take part in development workshops and learning activities, and even gain opportunities to participate in Swimming Victoria’s performance programs.
Participation in the squad system is considered to be an annual involvement, as a result the fees have been averaged out to produce the quarterly amounts that are sent via electronic invoices. A swimming year is considered to be 48 weeks in duration.
