Swimming Australia - Technical Officials

Becoming a technical official is rewarding and an excellent way to contribute to the sport, spend time with your children, create great friendships and gain professional development. Swimming relies heavily on volunteers.

Competitions and events are important to the development of our athletes and technical officials are critical for their delivery.

All technical official information is now available via a dedicated hub. Visit the technical official hub, and as a starting point the Club Night Basics enables clubs to run their own time trials and swim meets.
Club Night Basics covers all the basics to run a club night!

  • Officiating basics
  • Timekeeping
  • Assembling swimmers

All the theory is right here via the link New Officials' Program | Australian Swimming Technical Officials.

Watch the short video clips and print the 1-page quick reference guides to remind you and teach others when on pool deck.

Learn as much theory as possible from the resources on this page then simply get started helping out!
